2006 awa NATIONAL PWC JAMBOREE

september 1-3, 2006

nation’s premier recreational event returns to nashville

After another successful year and event that attracted more than 200 participants from 30 different states and Canada, we are pleased to announce the return of the National PWC Jamboree to Nashville, Tennessee.  The National PWC Jamboree is a three-day national personal watercraft (PWC) recreational and family social and entertainment event that provides an opportunity to showcase the positive aspects of PWC as a lifestyle sport.  The whole atmosphere of the event will be fun and family-oriented.  The event is set up to bring together enthusiasts that share a common interest – the love of the sport of personal watercraft riding.  This year’s event will take place on September 1, 2 and 3 at Nashville Shores Park, just minutes from downtown Nashville.  This year's event will be run in conjunction with the APBA Watercross Nationals to create one HUGE event.

On shore, the atmosphere will be electric.  Professional staging and sound system, banners, tents, and corporate watercraft displays will set the stage for a truly large-scale event.  Watercraft enthusiasts can view the latest PWC models, take demo rides,  play games and eat food at the beach party and BBQ, socialize with other watercraft enthusiasts, and watch and participate in more than ten PWC related events that will take place during the weekend.

Nashville Shores Park is located on the 14,200-acre J. Percy Priest Lake that features 213 miles of scenic natural shoreline to explore.  The lake is absolutely beautiful, and except for several marinas, campgrounds, boat launches, and parks, including Nashville Shores, the rest of this huge lake is wide open.  The combination of a first class facility, together with exciting recreational PWC events, will make this a very exciting and memorable event.   The site is conveniently located only 4 miles from Nashville International airport and there are more than 500 hotel rooms within 1 mile of the site.  Participants can also camp or park RV’s right on site.  Here are some highlights of the event:

National PWC Jamboree Events

 PWC Poker Run

The Poker Run is the feature attraction of the National PWC Jamboree where participants will have an opportunity to tour beautiful J. Percy Priest Lake and have a chance to win some very big prizes.  And we mean BIG - more than $10,000 in prizes as well as a special grand prize that will be announced soon. This event will finish back at Nashville Shores for an awards ceremony, BBQ and party.

Riva Racing King of the Beach

So your boat goes fast in a straight line – but can you ride it?  The King of the Beach event will give riders an opportunity to carve buoys like the Pros on a simulated racecourse.  Participants will get two laps on the course, going one at a time, with the riders with the fastest times in a Men’s Runabout, Women’s Runabout and Ski classes taking home some nice medals and prizes and the rider with the fastest time will be crowned “King of the Beach” and take home a $350 custom trophy.

 Super Slalom Challenge

The Super Slalom Challenge is an exciting event where riders will compete on a special Slalom course.  The watercraft will be supplied for the participants. The riders with the fastest time in a Men's and Women's class will be crowned the winners and take home some nice prizes.  Medals will be awarded to the top three riders in each class and the rider with the fastest time will receive a special trophy.

 Radar Gun Shootout

The Radar Gun Shootout will find out who has the fastest PWC on the beach.  Participants will make two runs on a straight 1/4-mile course.  The peak speed-reading on the radar gun will determine the winner.  Medals will be awarded to the top three participants in a Runabout and Ski divisions, as well as some nice prizes.  The rider with the fastest time will win a $350 custom trophy.  Even if you do not win, this is a great event to find out how fast your watercraft really goes.

 Wamilton’s Sickest Trick Competition

The Wamilton’s Sickest Trick Freestyle competition is an exciting Freestyle event that will take place at the Jamboree.  Instead of Freestyle riders performing a timed routine, Freestyle riders will go one at a time and perform the best freestyle trick.  Freestyle riders will get several opportunities to perform their Sickest Trick.  Judging will be based on crowd response from the Jamboree participants.  All registered Jamboree participants will be eligible to enter the event.  Winners will receive some great prizes from Wamilton’s and the rider that performs the “Sickest Trick” will also take home a nice cash award, as well as a special custom trophy.

Demo Ride Program

The Demo Ride program will give participants an opportunity to test-drive the newest PWC models from Honda, Kawasaki, Polaris, Yamaha and Sea-Doo.

Custom Watercraft Competition

Another exciting event will be the custom watercraft competition.  Judging will be based on best paint, best engine and best overall watercraft.  The winner of best overall watercraft will win a special custom trophy.
