DETERMINING OVERALL CHAMPIONS
To determine overall
class champions, racers earn points depending on
the final position in each Watercross (Closed Course) class. Individual awards will be awarded for
each separate class (Expert Ski Limited) instead of an overall
division championship (Expert Ski). This
will give more opportunities for riders to earn overall awards, and
not penalize riders that have only one boat or race one class.
The 60 points for a win points system will be
used for all Watercross and 20 point system for Slalom events. The total points
from the Watercross event and the companion Slalom event is a
racer's event score. Overall championships are based on the points
earned from all events - no dropping the lowest round this year.
Freestyle points are scored separately to determine an overall champion.
Double points are awarded at the series finale in all classes including
Slalom and Freestyle. Riders must attend a minimum of 5 rounds to be eligible for an overall award and there is NO
minimum riders required in the class to receive an award.
