Surf and Turf
Promotions gets dealt another blow...Wilma!
The final two
rounds of the Surf and Turf Championships at Perdido Beach
Resort in Orange Beach, Alabama, have been postponed to
March 06'. After polling riders on whether they would
be able to make it over 70% said one of the following
answers;
1. Because of hurricane Wilma
(50% of Region #7 competitors)
2. Lack of funds because they
just returned from Havasu
3. Still repairing from
hurricanes
4. Boats broke
The fact is
that we want to have a successful event in Orange Beach
because this is the first time that Surf and Turf has put on
an event their. We need the Host Hotel and everyone
that has worked so hard to get this event up and running to
be successful. The Perdido Beach Resort is a beautiful
race site with incredible potential and we do not want that
wasted on a poor turnout. With this being said the
event will be rescheduled for sometime in March 06' with it
being a double points round including rounds #5 & 6 from
2005 and Rounds 1 & 2 for 2006, this should boost the
numbers and get us invited back. We will be announcing
that date within the next week! We sincerely apologize
if we have caused you or your team any inconvenience!
